The birth of the sisterhood of the diva dames

The Roots

The Roots of the D.O.Ber Society (Dirty Ol' Bastards Enjoy Riding) trace back to the early 2000s, with the Dames forming a few years later to include women in the culture and promote female empowerment within the motorcycle community. By August 2019, during Sturgis Bike Week, an inquisitive look into this organization for men aged 50 and older helped spark a period of rapid national expansion into Nebraska. However, what began as a 'brotherhood' quickly became a source of division as the society’s influence caused a shift in priorities that favored the organization above all else.

This growth was complicated by an inconsistent organizational structure. While the four founders established various business entities, they remained largely detached from daily operations, creating a landscape of mixed messaging. This lack of transparency extended to the society’s financial requirements, which were defined by inconsistent pricing that shifted depending on the point of contact.

Furthermore, the leadership’s refusal to engage in traditional protocols with established motorcycle organizations led to avoidable tensions. These rising internal and external conflicts eventually led to the collapse of the Nebraska chapter, as well as several other states across the country. However, a few of the D.O.Ber societies continue to thrive today, driven by a renewed respect for their heritage and a commitment to the core values that sustain their brotherhood.

The D.O.Ber Dames focused primarily on charity fundraising, placing all funds into society-owned accounts. In Nebraska, the focus was on building a community through service, but the group eventually faced internal divisions between those dedicated to the mission and those who prioritized social activity. When the Nebraska society dismantled, the Dames dissolved as well, leaving me to mourn the loss of a bond I realized was never truly valued and sparking a deep desire to walk away from motorcycle groups entirely.

Fresh Start

After several years of reflection and healing, I felt a calling to transform the original D.O.B.er Dames into the Sisterhood of the Diva Dames. With a fresh logo and a renewed set of values, I rebuilt the society on a foundation of mutual respect and friendship, finally creating the authentic sisterly bond I had always sought. This new direction not only embodies female empowerment but also sets the stage for future charity fundraising initiatives that can benefit our communities.

I reached out to my good friend Jenny Shook, a woman I’ve known for years whose passion for riding really shines through. I wanted to sit down with her to gain deeper insights into the world of women’s motorcycle groups and discuss how I could lead this society in a truly positive and purposeful direction. That conversation sparked new possibilities, marking the beginning of an exciting chapter to turn this vision into a reality: a space where women can connect, ride, and empower one another without the baggage of the past.

A pivotal change in this new mission was inviting God into the center of everything we do. While we honor and respect all individual beliefs, the Sisterhood of the Diva Dames is rooted in the conviction that with faith and mutual respect, anything is possible. By placing these values at our core, we ensure that our path forward is paved with grace, strength, and a purpose that transcends the road beneath us.

What We Stand For

The Sisterhood of the Diva Dames is defined by three powerful words: Sisterhood, a deep kinship and closeness among women; Diva, a woman who is confident, self-sufficient, and unapologetically empowered; and Dame, a title signifying strength and a rank equivalent to a knight.

Our Four Pillars

We have built this sisterhood upon a foundation of Empowerment Through Connection, upheld by these pillars:

Sisterhood & Support: A judgment-free network of genuine friendship that fosters female empowerment.

Empowerment & Growth: Fostering self-worth and collaborating to reach our individual potential, creating an environment that encourages women’s motorcycle groups to thrive.

Shared Adventures: Creating unforgettable memories through rides and gatherings, both on and off the road, while also engaging in charity fundraising efforts to give back to our communities.

Community Impact: Giving back through charitable initiatives and offering a shoulder to lean on for our sisters.

Unlike traditional clubs, we value collaboration over rigid rules. We celebrate every woman's journey—regardless of her riding experience—and focus on the bonds that extend far beyond the road.

The Personal Touch

A Note from the Founder:

I started the Sisterhood of the Diva Dames to ensure no woman has to ride alone or feel unheard. Through our charity fundraising efforts, we promote female empowerment, inviting you to bring your unique story and strength to the table. Together, as part of our women's motorcycle groups, we are forging bonds that go beyond the surface and celebrating the unique power within every Dame.
